Jennifer Brown has always been passionate and committed to helping and empowering women to go to the next level in their personal and professional lives. In 2001, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and design, which paved the way to an extensive career in retail management. While honing her knowledge and skills in the retail industry, Jennifer pursued additional education at Dallas Baptist University in counseling which led her down a path of discovering and realizing her true purpose. Her journey began while working as a lay counselor atThe Potter’s House, one of the largest churches in Dallas, Texasunder the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes. While at The Potter’s House Jennifer co-facilitated an 18-week group for youth focused on helping them make lasting connections through shared interests and experiences. It was here that Jennifer began to learn about the power of accessing resources and identifying effective ways tonavigate them when facing adverse circumstances and situations.
In 2007, Jennifer became a board member with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and was involved in recruiting members to the organization in support of their mission to increase counseling services to diverse and underserved populations. This experience provided Jennifer with direct exposure to the unique needs of various ethnic groups and called for her to continue developing an awareness of resources. In 2009, Jennifer continued her efforts towards addressing the needs of disadvantaged and disenfranchised populations by volunteering with the National Council of Negro Women in Arizona. Her primary responsibilities included hosting programs in the community to bring women together in need of food, clothing, and other forms of assistance. It was here that Jennifer gained a deeper insight into the specific struggles women experience while seeking to accomplish their career goals.
In fact, she had similar struggles in her own life and believes they equipped her with the tools needed to become the proud owner of an online accessory and clothing boutique called Naturally VersatileBoutique. Naturally Versatile Boutique was created for women who want to walk confidently in their purpose while expressing their unique individuality through fashion. Jennifer loves people and places tremendous value in making connections that last a lifetime. She has over 25 years of experience engaging in empowering relationships and is currently the Managing Empowerment Director of the Tulsa, Oklahoma Phenomenal Woman Empowerment Network (PWEN) Chapter.
